The Art of the Holiday Party + More Cuba, Yes Please!

Are you hosting a Memorial Day party this weekend? Here are some quick tips to get you ready to celebrate!

1. Make it a Potluck! Lighten your load and invite your guests to bring a side to share. Maybe you should make a short list of ideas though so you don't end up with nine kinds of potato salad.
2. Create a Signature Cocktail. You know I love Moscow Mules, Kentucky Mules, any kind of Mules... if you just have beer and one signature cocktail it's easy to shop for the party and easy to serve too.
3. Spruce up your Powder Room and Kitchen with beautiful fresh cut flowers, new soap, a hand-blocked tablecloth or cotton kitchen towels.
4. Games! Even if it's an adults only party, outdoor games are a great way to get everyone involved and enjoy the warm weather. A Bean Bag Toss, Horseshoes, Water Balloons... these will work off at least three kinds of potato salad.

And if you're going to a party, don't forget to be a good guest and bring a host/hostess gift. At Domain we have 228 Grant St Candles, Handmade Wood Wine Stoppers, Mt Royal Soaps, fair trade cotton table linens and you know they'll love our SugarFina candies.

Last week we told you about how to get to Cuba and now here's what to do once you get there! We traveled under the "In Support of the Cuban People" license which meant we had to have a written itinerary for our entire trip to prove that we were interacting with the Cuban people each day. Hop over to the blog to see what we did and the tour companies we loved.
