Top Ideas To Brighten Your Day

I know... everything you read and everything you hear right now is all focused on one thing and it's hard to think about anything else. Being at home, away from those daily connections with friends and family, can take a toll on us after a while. I'm so thankful that's it's almost spring, with longer hours of daylight, warmer weather and so many beautiful flowers and trees beginning to blossom.

Here are some ideas to lift your spirits and bring all of that spring beauty into your home.

#1: Spring Inside: Whether you have a green thumb or have been banned from the garden, now's the time to check out what's blossoming and bring some of it inside to brighten every room. Even the simplest arrangement of flowering branches or daffodils can bring color and life into your home.

10 Drops Clove Essential Oil

15 Drops of Tea Tree Essential Oil

"Multi Purpose Cleaner"
1-1/2 Cup Distilled Water

#3: Spring (Local) Shopping: As a small business, we feel extremely lucky to have a healthy team and to be surrounded by a very supportive local community. One way to lift your own spirits and make an impact is to help others in need, specifically those with small businesses that need daily customers and revenue to survive. At Domain we carry locally-made and fair-trade home decor that supports both local and international makers and artists. We're excited to have our shop online at DomainByLauraHodgesStudio.com to make all of these lovely finds available for local pick up or shipping to your home. Local restaurants and shops need all the support we can give right now so shop online, order take-out and pick up curbside to support your local businesses and makers.

#4: Spring In Your Step: This is a two-for-one tip for both your mind and your body. Ever since this pandemic started I've felt a bit anxious... all day. They say it takes 30 days to form a new habit so, in an effort to look on the bright side, I've decided that my new habit is going to be doing yoga every morning. The daily exercise is already helping to clear my mind and it gives me energy that lasts all day. This whole "yoga every morning" thing has been a goal for years but somehow it just never happened. A few times a week, sure, but every morning? Nope. Well, with at least 30 days unencumbered by normalcy, I'm thinking that this might just be the best time to try forming a new habit... and adding a new routine to an otherwise uncertain day. What new habits or routines would you like to start? Maybe now is the perfect time...

#5. Spring Back To Life: A warm and welcoming home isn't just about the way it looks, it's how it feels. Make your home feel more inviting and supportive to your mental health with simple touches that create a sense of well-being and calm. Softly scented candles, fresh-cut flowers, your favorite music... all of these easy ideas can make a big impact on your well-being. Now could be the best time to take a moment to reflect and be thankful for whatever is going well in your life.
